3 Hilton Cottages Staircase: This oak staircase was erected as part of extensive renovation of a cottage in Fife, which also included an oak extension to house the kitchen (shown in another gallery). The larger section timbers (newel posts) were made from green timber, but due to the traditional housed stringer construction the rest was a mixture of air dried and kiln dried timber.

The architect was Pete Cummins and the timber supplied by Scottish Wood.
